Woah…Take about digging up the dead.
Pond’s is froze over and covered in plenty of snow! Rejected the idea a while ago, but you guys are really convincing.
you work at a fish shop right??? why not just use your discount and buy and products that you know are safe and healthy…
Well I didn’t back in May, but yeah, that’s what I do now. And damn do I use that discount a lot! It really helps, espcially since a heater, then one filter after another bust, and I had to replace them. :roll:

I’ve been contemplating ‘donating them to the fish store I work at. They’re either be placed in our large display tank or sold cheap. When I bought the rainbowfish I hadn’t researched properly. Later found out rainbows are shoaling and need a bigger aquarium.
My tank isn’t exactly rainbowfish habitat-ish either. Slate with short plants.
It’s not that I don’t like them, I do. It’s just I feel bad keeping them in an inappropiate environment.
If I brought them in I’d be able to oversee what happens to them, as I’m the main fishroom girl on weekdays.
What’s your opinion?

My two ‘babies’ are a decent size now. The size of a pygmy catfish nwn. Turns out I have two little girls. :wink:
Any ideas on how to help coax those mamas to give birth? It’s been a long time now. Starting to think they just have big round tumors. :roll: Silly fisk!

What type of catfish are in there? The one with black stripes on white (not the skunk catfish, the other), the swiggly lines one, and that little one?
I’m beginning to really love catfish and wanting more. A mainly catfish tank with many kinds would be awesome! Of course that’s just me dreaming… But hmmm… Maybe a breeding program in the far future? After I move out, rent a double heated garage, or hypnotize my pparents into partially renovating out big basement into a fish room.
Oh…back to galaxies. Do you find yours tend to hide, or are they hanging out in the open? My almost fully grown ones insist on swimming in the open, even though there’s lots of plant coverage.

You have a Neon Orange? I’m so jealous. They’re my favorite. Well, maybe Juliis… Four Line Pictus? No, I can’t decide. They’re all awesome. I’ve only seen one type of catfish I didn’t like, Synodontis notatus. We have them at the store. They look like most of their has been eaten away at.

Must be nice working at a fish store! Wish I could do that too… hmm or maybe run my own fish store… just dreaming aloud here.
I don’t know about running one, but working in one is so hard when you see all these awesome fish coming in and can’t take them home.
Friday’s when they all come in and we float them then let them out for sale.Catfish are a problem for me especially. I want a Neon Orange, an Agazzi, a Julii, an emerald green, an albino, a channel, a pictis, and those darn cute little ‘leopard’ ones that swim all over the sides of the tanks and is about $24.
I did “bring home a friend” though. We got in Gold Green catfish today and they are so beautiful, and the little guy I bought, so cute.
. He went in with the juvi galaxies.The way it is in my aquariums is one catifish for every 10 gallons. Well…I count my 3 pygmy catfish as the same as 1.
I have a Panda and a Peppered in my 20 gallon community.
A bronze (read, green
catfish on the male and unpregnant female side of my 22 gallon, which also has a recently bought apple snail that I’ll cycle through the tanks to clean my algae.3 pygmys on the pregnant platy side of the 22 gallon.
And now…a gold green in my 10 gallon where my galaxies are maturing.
