Tom2006Participant
Great stuff Dennis. Certainly worth doing. I was removing 5-6 spam posts (at least) every day or so at one point.
Tom2006ParticipantNice healthy cpds and very good pictures. I’m terrible at fish photography!
Tom2006ParticipantI don’t add calcium (do you and if so what do you add) but I use 3 parts pure RO water and 1 part tap water, which is very hard in my area. I do feed with shrimp food though.
The shrimp molt and are very healthy and are now in with just three cpds. I’ve noticed that the cherry shrimp don’t seem to produce many young now. They hold loads of eggs but I never see many youngsters, although there are some.
They are in an 8 gallon tank and there were 14 adult CPDS in there, so I’m hoping the reduction in cpds should see an increase in young shrimp.

Tom2006ParticipantTwo shops close to me stock them all the time but they don’t sell many, which is why I think they stock them all the time

But when you log in in the top right has the option of showing you new posts. My screen just highlights all new posts with an orange colour in the far left of each topic thread.
Tom2006ParticipantWOW….loving your yellows and the bettas!! You really know how to keep and breed all things aquatic!
I’m still trying to get my crystal red shrimp to produce youngsters. They hold the eggs no problems but I just never see any youngsters?!?!
Tom2006ParticipantI find that they like moss as a cover. The eggs don’t stick to sink to the tank floor anyway
Tom2006ParticipantHi
Nice colourful tank! The cpd’s wont be very happy in there though due to all the activity. They are timid fish and you get their true character and colour when they are in a tank on their own or with other shy small fish
Tom2006ParticipantInteresting stuff. Might need to cool my tank down a bit then
Tom2006ParticipantA very merry balated X’mas and a happy new year to you all!
Tom2006Participantthey will normally breed very easily themselves BUT love to eat their own eggs and fry. Have a dig around the site for methods of breeding.
Tom2006Participantthey love a planted tank! Mine love java moss but beware as the odd one can sometimes get caught up in the moss
Tom2006ParticipantGood point….simply because this site has some much detailed information prevents the need for repeat postings.
A big factor is that these beautiful fish look dreadful in the shop so many people just walk past. Plus, locally the prices are going up and up, they are about £6-8 each over here now…which is very expensive for what looks to be a very very tiny pale grey fish in the shop tank….little do people know what they are missing.
Tom2006Participantcongrats!!! Careful with the liquifry…easily fouls the water.
