chr15_8ParticipantHi welcome to the forum
tanks sounds great and be sure to post pictures
i also moved it to this forum as its not directed at the cpd habitat
chris
chr15_8Participantin my mbuna tank i use a gravel vac and very lightly skim the surface.
the sand covers about 4ftx1ft and after doing it i only lose a little sand (about alf a hand full at the most.)
i then run my fingers though it to the bottam of the tank. i do this every week. i dont get any smells and it always look good.
chris
chr15_8Participantwhen cleaniny cpd tank instead of using a vacum i tigh on a foot of a stocking with an elastic band i the suck the other end so water comes out.
i pick any dead leaves out of the tank by hand.
java moss was hard when i got.

I recommend full-spectrum lighting, yes, even for humans! OK I know not everyone may have control over their work environment… but if you do… and if you can change the fluorescent lighting above your workspace, replace them with the full-spectrum ones… they sell them here at Canadian Tire and are not pricey at all.
