Well how? I don’t have any personally. Not anymore. I didn’t even try, and boy it stank when I renovated. Nasty…

But it came up at work, and I didn’t really have an answer. It’s not like you can gravel syphon out the debris or anything.

    Help please? :)

in my mbuna tank i use a gravel vac and very lightly skim the surface.

the sand covers about 4ftx1ft and after doing it i only lose a little sand (about alf a hand full at the most.)

i then run my fingers though it to the bottam of the tank. i do this every week. i dont get any smells and it always look good.

I just treat it like gravel.
Sand is incredibly annoying to clean in FW.

    I love sand :)
all the dirt stays on top so you really just need to skim the surface with the gravel vac and it will suck it up, even if you disturb the sand, sucking up a little bit won’t hurt.
