First Fry, can’t believe it….:D

Hi,
I’m from the Netherlands…….
I’ve got 10 CPD’s ( 5 couples )….bought them 3 months ago from a female breeder…
I had them in a Juwel tank ( size 50*30*30 , with Cherry Reds Shrimps, 7x Rasbora Maculatas ) and a few days ago I replaced them to a Aqua 40 tank with a lot of javamoss and plants.
After the replacement, I was totally suprised that I found some fry in the Juwel tank….so I removed the Rasbora Maculatas….to another tank
After inspection of the tank I found 5 fry, I think one of these fry is at least 2½ weeks old because he/she is much bigger than the others ( maybe 6 days old).
The 10 CPD’s in the Aqua 40 tank doing very well…..they are chasing each other….nonstop…..FRY again?????

I also keep my CPD’s with Boraras…. they make a nice combination and even shoal together on occasion.

YES, YES…BINGO AGAIN :lol: , I found new born frys in the other tank…….

They are very quick….I moved them one day after X-mas to another tank…
And one week later I have FRY
I don’t know how much…..but I saw already three fry swimming at the top….when the parents swimming below them

I have in the Juwel tank, more then 10 CPD frys swimming.
I ‘ve got daily fry in the Aqua40 tank, so I will separate them and put them in the Juwel tank.
the last few days I caught about 6 frys….but the are hard to find they are almost transparent..

The group of young frys is still growing :lol:…..I have at least 43 frys :o .
The biggest one “the leader” is now 8 mm long…
Every day I can pick 2 – 4 frys out the Aqua40 tank….a placed them in the Juwel 50*30*30 tank with others.
what else can I do…..
Congrats on the good luck breding them! I have had good luck but only have 3 females and two males in the breeding tank so the output isn’t a daily thing and most of the fry get munched so far so I have only a meagre seven of them. The parents must be pretty voracious appetite-wise. I am setting up a couple of spawning tanks using plastic canvas as the base to protect the eggs from the parents. I have also kept the best of the adults as the breeders to keep the strain nice and strong. My fry are definitely healthy and great to watch grow. Such a slow process but definitely worth it!
