Update: After a week and a half almost, I finally received my CPD’s today. Luckily, he just shipped them out. There were a few situations that kept the seller from getting them out on time and I have been worried about their condition, as I did not know the specifics of their care during this time. I am happy to report that they look fantastic and seem to have adjusted very quickly. They were eating and I have had the pleasure of watching some of them play today. I am very glad!! I now have 14 of them and they will be in their final species only tank hopefully in the next week. I love them, so pretty!!

Thank you, you are very kind. I appreciate your advice and look forward to your “Emerald D Rasboras”, as they are on my wish list as well.

Hi Dennis, I have been looking for your auctions on Aquabid and when I posted the above you had only one listed. I was not sure if that was due to not having a large quantity ready. I did manage to locate some on another forum that I have pre paid for. I wasn’t sure that I could PM you. I thought I might only be able to go through the other outlet to contact you, but I now know and appreciate knowing that I can message you in the future. (I may take you up on that) You seem to have a great reputation among the forums for the health of your fish and what you sell.
What I have just purchased will be wild caught, though he said he has had them for a few weeks and they are eating well. Do you have any recommendations on how I care for them when I first get them? I do not want to lose any from this batch so I want to take all precautions I can to ensure they stay healthy.

Do you have any other Danio species outside of what you just listed on AB? Rasboras perhaps? I have been bitten by the micro fish bug!

Dennis, Thank you for your response. Honestly I have no idea if they were wild caught, but I would say the chances are pretty high. I had been offering them a basic flake food, and I have tried frozen daphnia on 2 occasions, one of those being yesterday. I just received a sample package of Something Staple S that they seemed to like. My tanks have been running for quite a while so I would suspect that there are the normal micro stuff for them to hunt. The last 2 that I am watching seem to be doing very well. There is a third that I cannot find today yet, but will hunt that one out when it is feeding time.

Do you think that having hard water might have anything to do with it? I tried to acclimate them over a period of 12 hours or so. I am waiting to hear from one of our LFS on whether or not they can order some for me, I will only get from them if they can leave them bagged when they arrive since their tanks ALWAYS have ich…I definitely want more, but if my water isn’t good for them, I will not order any more.
What do you suggest for feeding? I do not have any worm cultures and though I think it’s icky, I might get into that if it would benefit them. I would need to research them out first though…

    Again, Thank you
    Regards, Therese
