Welcome to the forum, i also have bred plenty of danio species before, do not expect 100’s of eggs from the celestials. at the most i have seen around 30 from a large spawn, other people may of had more but speaking from my own experience small broods are to be expected. Best bet would be to set up 5-6 small tanks, set up bare with a spawning grid and a woolen mop or java moss, with a trio in each (2 males 1 female) when they spawn(which isnt hard) tip all the small tanks into one larger one and raise them in the same container.
Hope you fine them soon and get a group of these lovely little fish.ste12000ParticipantYes Chris is right i name every single one of my 20.0000 fish

ste12000ParticipantHi boyneburn, glad you could join us…I use a Fujifilm s5700, I would certainly recommend it for taking good fish pics. It is a 7 megapixel camera with a good size LCD screen and the most important aspect i looked for in my new camera… a close up macro feature.
Thanks for looking.ste12000Participantviby72, Im just going out… but later on when iv got some time ill take some step by step pics and show you how to make them, ill find a pic aswel.

A special thanks go’s to my long suffering wife who trys hard to look interested when i am chatting about filter bacterior…And to my two young children for letting me use their rooms as my own personal fishroom before moving my tanks into the shed… Last but not least i would like to thank you guys for sitting there like a moron and listening to me chat complete SH!*TE…….

Rosy barbs (Bright colours and slightly larger, peaceful)

October 14, 2007 at 12:55 am in reply to: Breeding Laetacara curviceps (South American dwarf cichlid) #12594ste12000ParticipantMy family think im mad!!! i have spent half of today on my stomach in the fishroom watching and photographing the Laetacara.. Oh ok yes i am mad but arnt we all…..
The females been sharing responsibility today, she has been fanning and guarding the eggs as much as the male, last night i had’nt seen her at all since i bought them 11 days ago, today shes been out all day. They are both stunning fish but look a lot darker in the tank due to the subdued lighting(18inch tube over two 18x18x12 tanks) The flash shows of the colours to perfection and im quite pleased with the shots.
My rams also spawned again last night and a few have fungused today but upto now the young pair are doing a great job of looking after the eggs(time will tell)..
So everything is rosy in the fishroom and just how i like it..BUSY BUSY BUSY.FEMALE
ste12000ParticipantHeres the babies after 5 weeks, getting bigger now.
ste12000ParticipantOh well never mind  I think ill leave the Icky feeder fish and concentrate on the top quality fish the Uk has to offer  …
Hope your enjoying yourself in everyones dream job!!!!!!1ste12000ParticipantLovely shots i too take many many pictures before choosing the best couple, i use a Fujifilm Finepix s5700 http://aolsearch.aol.co.uk/aol/image?query=Fujifilm%20Finepix%20s5700&invocationType=imageTab
It can take some stunning shots but i cannot get the super macro feature to work with the flash, normal macro works with the flash but not the true closeup. I usually end up adding extra lighting from above while i take closeups.
Keep up the good workste12000ParticipantStunning tanks and what an awesome selection of fish, i think the seahorses are awesome. Keep up the good work.
ste12000ParticipantIm really glad you enjoyed your first day, you are doing most peoples ideal job so please dont rub it in too much
What kind of species do they sell? are they all general community fish or are there any odditys/rare fish in amongst them?? Have you told them about the Celestials?
Good luckste12000ParticipantThats why i built my fishroom, because everytime i go to the fishplace i say to myself right no more fish and then come out with three bags full lol.
A shop that is not so local to me is getting a shipment in from South america on thursday so im currently clearing some tank space for some more raritys.. i cant wait, it should be good, they specialise in rare and hard to get species, and im just waiting for some new dwarf cichlids to last me the winter…… -
