is there anything i can do to help them come out of their shells? i would love to see them swin around more. i feel like i am not properly taking care, and i want to make sure i am doing everything i can do facilitate a good life for them.

next question, also about their eating habits…

will they eat baby pond snails? my thought is no because of their smalls mouths, but i have no experience with them. but i am finding pond snail eggs everywhere and i am sure i will soon be overrun with them…

so they will come to the surface for freeze dried daphnia? i have some i use for my betta.

i also picked up some algae wafers and shrimp pellets. how often, and how much of each should i be feeding for my 10 CPD?

dont the algae wafers and shrimp pellets sink? do they nibble at those from the substrate?

is it safe to say that because i have a heavily planted tank, that they wont go hungry?
will they snack on the plant matter in the tank till i can figure out their food situation?
will they also pick on the hikari pellets?

since i cant get them to come out yet, i want to make sure they are at least eating something.

so they will eat algae wafers? do you recommend a certain brand? should i drop it into the corner they hide in?

i am certainly hoping my shrimp start reproducing soon, hopefully some make it into adulthood to populate more food

there is a bunch of cover, lots of plants, but they always seem to congregate in the darkest corner and under an ornament i have.
