LukeParticipant
hope this helps; now get breeding!
LukeParticipantgreat reading thanks! i was just thinking about doing this down here in new zealand over summer. one question is we should ask is is the yield higher spawning them outside than inside? inside you can use an egg trap, breed a pair, then remove the parents… this could be done outside too though. anyway hopefully i will find out
LukeParticipantInteresting. thanks a lot for the info
LukeParticipantNice going dude I have the same-sized tank. I’d remove the fry and raise them seperately. Congrats on the pygmy fry too I love those lil critters
LukeParticipantYes please post the water conditions that ianz3 asked.. also any substrate? i moved 2 trios (2 m/1f) to a dedicated breeding tank and have not seen any fry or eggs in there in weeks… i have made some proper egg catchers tho so i will employ those soon and try some fresh trios
LukeParticipantCelestialdude you’re welcome and thanks feel free to sticky the photos with my name on them.
LukeParticipanthaha i love them as they are but maybe instead of zebra danios turning into leopard danios we’ll get celestial pearls turning into celestial zebras?!
LukeParticipantVery interesting to read L777. after how long did you remove the parents from the breeding tank??? as i’ve had my well conditioned (on white worms and flake) CPDs in 2 seperate breeding tanks (2 lots of 2M 1F) and no fry.. but i did not feed them during this week… now if these danios are anything like their cousins…..SURELY they would eat their own eggs and fry?!?! will feed them on whiteworm in the breeding tank now and monitor results daily now…..
LukeParticipantHi there.. some pics I took recently:
HTH
LukeParticipantapparently they don’t eat their own fry tho i had a couple disappear. on the other hand you could keep it to breed with.. homebred ones appear to be more confident. i have 2 trios in a breeding tank at the moment hoping i will find fry soon.. nothing after a week!
