I have had 11 CPD’s for about a month in an 18″*12″*12″ that were generously supplied by Albatross, I checked the tank yesterday and have so far found 2 fry of very different sizes, so I assume at least 2 spawnings.
The tank has a lot of java moss for fry to hide so there could be more, the tank is also very mature so should have plenty of food for the fry.

On the glass in the same tank were some other eggs which must be from the 4 Cory Pygmaeus that I put in there 2 weeks ago, so hopefully there will be a few young corys as well.

Nice going dude :) I have the same-sized tank. I’d remove the fry and raise them seperately. Congrats on the pygmy fry too I love those lil critters :)

Nice one Andrew, as with Luke – I’d raise them elsewhere

Congrats Andrew Hope you find many more. I didn’t seperate my fry but if you have tank space free i would recomend that you move the fry.

Cheers Guys, I have now found 9 fry from 3 spawnings. These little guys grow quite quickly don’t they!
I intend to take the fry out when they get a bit bigger and try spawning them in a separate tank as you would with other egglayers but at the moment my fish house is pretty full.
The Cory eggs have gone, but I haven’t seen any fry yet (i assume they’ve hatched), but that said the tank is full of moss so i’d need to lift it and I don’t want to stress the CPD’s or corys while they’re happily spawning regularly.
To top this week off my Ancistrus have a load of new fry in their tank, I love spawning these fish as much as the CPD’s.

    Thanks again guys.
