nice selection of fish that you breed!! I don’t breed much deliberately but my CPDs spawn now and then. My bristlnose catfish do the same and my Malawi cichlids spawn all the time but eat most of the young. lol
That reminds me, I am also working on some longfin bristlenose as well lol.
jetajockeyParticipantThanks Dennis!
jetajockeyParticipanteh…um..
Actually breeding, as in, have eggs-will travel.
-Electric blue rams
-Danio Choprai (glowlight danio) (thanks dennis)
-CPD’s of course (thanks dennis again)
-Devario Sondhii (fireline danio)
-Peacock gudgeons
-Guppies/platys (does that count? they multiply like gremlins)
-Corydoras schultzei (black-yes black corys!)
-Cherry shrimp
In the works--Electric blue jack dempseys
-Crystal red shrimp a-ss gradejetajockeyParticipantalso keep in mind that fry tend to go after moving things first and foremost. There are some that won’t eat at all unless it is wiggling. That being said, another method that I’ve used that works well is to give them a filter squeezing from an established sponge filter.
jetajockeyParticipantI use a 2 liter bottle, fill it up 3/4 with tank water. get some old lettuce or some plant clippings, mash em up a bit and then put them in there. Leave it in a window sill a few days and you’ll have green water.
An easier method that I use, is in my newborn nursery tank, I leave the light on 24/7, and keep a large bunch of java moss in there. Between the extreme lighting and plants, there are plenty of critters for the babies to munch on.
