Otherwise acting alright?
Could be Dropsy, Bloat, Swim Bladder Disorder, or a tumor.

atlantis_childParticipantThanx for that, ste12000… Your probably the biggest fish geek here. And that’s an honest complement.

The best book about Breeding fish i have come across is the series by Dr Herbert.r.Axelrod simply called ‘Breeding Aquarium fish’ It is the most indepth series of books about breeding i have read yet, the first one was published in 1971 but the info is not out of date at all, sure their equipment is completely different to the modern stuff we use now but the fish still breed the same and thats what counts.
I actually have two of the books in that series, Book 4 and 6. They were selling them used from my local library. They didn’t have the rest of them, unfortunately. And also, none of the fish in those books I have, or can get right now.
But there is probably a bunch of similarities between related species, right?
He’s also written a lot of other books as well, 9 of which are at my library, so I’ve gone through some of those, and will try to get my hands on the others.
Really like the way he writes, actually. Very easy to read, not too text-booky and quite personal.
atlantis_childParticipantHey!!!
Why is celestrialdude’s post missing, and mine has his name beside it?!!

atlantis_childParticipantMaybe put an add in the paper for people looking to buy them for breeding purposes? lfs would probably be better than trying to send them too far.

atlantis_childParticipantLike I said in the other thread: Damn are those fish promiscuous!
So, are you going to let the adults keep doing this till you totally run out of space, or till they decide to stop?
I love catfish too. I only have two, but I love watching my peppered. He’s always active, looking for food. Eats a lot of it too. He’s like a little vacum cleaner. Lots of spirit in that little guy!

atlantis_childParticipantdwarf sunset platies

atlantis_childParticipantI guess the name "silverfish" is already taken by an insect, so, too bad...
Yeah, I’ve heard. How silly. I was thinking Argento goldfish which is silver in latin.

I think that otocinclus sp. won’t eat the eggs. He is small vegetarian.
Mine eat bloodworms along with algae and vegetable matter. But that would probablly be the best bet.
Are oto’s schooling fish? I thought they were the solitary kind.
But they do eat algae right?– Atlantis Child
atlantis_childParticipantNo Atlantis i still have not bred the Cpd’s, Thanks for rubbing it in Ha ha ha…
My pleasure.
I had no idea catfish were so promiscuous. Are you going to let them continue, or stop them?
– Atlantis Child
atlantis_childParticipantI’ll take your word on it, seeing as you’re a way more experienced fishkeeper/breeder. Unfortunately my 20 gallon is pretty full. I might have to start up my 5 gallon to make room.
I’m kind of banking on this used 55 gallon tank my family friend employer whose house I’m painting was going to give me as part of my payment.
Parents think I don’t have the space in my room…
But no prob., When a chance like that comes along, I’ll make room! You still haven’t bred galaxies either yet, have you?
– Atlantis Child
atlantis_childParticipantCan’t watch the video, but what do you mean by mating dance? Where they circle each other shaking their head slightly?
– Atlantis Child
atlantis_childParticipantI have neon tetra with mine now. THey seem OK together.
– Atlantis Child
atlantis_childParticipantAww, I just wipe my algae off. Takes a minute each week. No problems
– Atlantis Child
atlantis_childParticipantYeah that’s a nice lawn you got going on there. No mowing required either I assume.
