Ooh, following Glowlight tetra style I dramatically lowered the light level and they’re really coming out more and seem to be more active!
Now I just have to find the balence between their liking low-moderate lighting and keeping my plants alive…

atlantis_childParticipantActually, since my last post I’ve come to the conclusion that twice a day is better. I’ve also started hatching brine shrimp. I’ll give them when I have them in the morning of that day, and maybe more and some flake food in the evening.
The food I use, if just sprinkled on the top of the water tends to spread out and over time drop down. That’s a good thing too.
atlantis_childParticipantAnnoying…now for looking at the “weird things” page I’m seeing ads for books about unicorns, ESP, pyschic things etc.
Better not to check it out I suppose.

atlantis_childParticipantThanx ste12000,
I knew this was the only possible way I’d be able to get the tank.
Have played the “I could have worse hobbies…” card though. The way my 20 gallon is set-up right now is pretty awesome though. I’ve got pieces of slate done up so there are lots of bridges and hiding places for the fishies that they seem to like. Interesting to look at to.
I’ll take a picture so I can try to duplicate it. Maybe share it with you guys too. Pic of planted galaxy tank too.

atlantis_childParticipantHey! you got in before me!
Yeah, what he said…
– Atlantis Child
atlantis_childParticipantI think that should be fine. Definately not too few or too small. Java moss is good to use too. Sandy bottom more natural to these fish.
– Atlantis Child
atlantis_childParticipantOoh..How about best largest pixel and detail picture of galaxy(s) for desktop pic’s!?

Chris will leave a smart arse comment now as i am the only one on here that has’nt bred them
Well neither have I. Which is kinda silly since I post here so often…Oh well, just trying to learn afterall. Think it’s a matter of time though, and I just love these fish.!
…Now Chris, if you see this, don’t you dare say anything.
Thanx for the tip about the Glowlight Tetra. I’ll look ’em up.

atlantis_childParticipantHey, would it be possible by any chance to get fitted teeshirts or tanktops?
Girls like me aren’t much into baggy, and I’d totally want to get one!Of course, even if you can’t I’d buy one and use my sewing skills.
– Atlantis Child
PS, When will we get to see what they look like?
atlantis_childParticipant1. What would the prize be?
How about one of those shirts you mentioned?
2. How would the winner(s) be chosen?
I’m thinking posters not trying to win (ie, posting a picture) PM’ing to you
3. Would there be more than one prize? How about several categories, with a prize in each? What would these categories be? Two that come to mind right now are : Adults and fry. Would there be more than one winner in each category?
Adults and fry is good. How about prettiest picture, best displaying and colorful male, nicest galaxy tank, best planted galaxy tank (glenn would like that…)?
I think one winner in each category would be best. After all, this isn’t a huge site, and there’ll probably be winners in multiple categories anyway.

atlantis_childParticipantAnd shit, now on that thread when I click to “post reply” it brings me back to the index!!

atlantis_childParticipantWell, the interview last night went good I think. I stayed calm and answered questions fairly well, maintained good eye contact, spoke at right level etc.
We both knew I was barely knowledgable about saltwater stuff, but I’m hopefull. He was a really nice guy, and it seemed there was stuff I could do without being totally imersed into saltwater culture. They have over 8000 gallons of water with fish there, so lots of algae scrubbing and water testing. I can do that . Also, I mentioned in my interview that I was a quick learner and would research up what I didn’t know…As said on resume too.
Good thing I did a bit of research cuz he asked me how marine aquariums differed from freashwater. I listed a few, then sort of tapered off. Thinking later, I knew a bunch of other things, but forgot under the pressure.
He said he’ll call in a few days, so I just have to hang tight.
On another note, the have the most gorgeous, huge aqauriums there. I had to stop myself from drooling over them…
And the fishies were so damn colorful and beatiful too!

atlantis_childParticipantShit. I did that weird thing again. Sorry, I deleted your post by posting too fast again. Again, sorry, I really feel bad about it. Can you repost what you said by any chance?
– freethinker
atlantis_childParticipantOh, I said on my resume I was a “fresh water” fish person, but also that I’m willing to learn. Which is true. If it’s about fish, it’s not exactly boring homework
– Atlantis Child
atlantis_childParticipantGlancing through marine fish books…Wow do they have boring names! Angelfish, Butterflyfish, Porcupine fish, Parrotfish, Hawkfish…
Geez, way to name fish after other animals!
