Hey I was thinking along the same lines as you did. Couple of questions.

    1. How do you keep the parents from trying to hide under the ministeck board?

    2. How did you bind the moss to the board?

    3. Where can I find a ministeck board, or is it just plastic canvas?

    Thanks for any help man.

    Thanks for your time.

Fry can survive on infusoria, so if you have plants like java moss in your tank, they probably will be fine. Finely crushed flake food is good, too.

I feed mine very small (0-50 micron) Golden Pearl fish food, from http://www.kensfish.com. Hikari First Bites, commonly at local fish stores, also probably would work.

I also keep a jar with lots of moss and plants near the tank, and feed an eyedropper of water into the tank a couple of times a day.

Thanks for the information. Though does your fry stay near the top of the tank? I’m not sure if this is regular behavior for them (they are about…. 1/3 the diameter of a dime).

Hey AquaGirl, I’m really glad that you’ve had much success on your celestial pearls.

I’ve recently begun to breed my own and I thought this project was unsuccessful (I was able to sex them about 2 months ago) until I found 3 fry swimming nearby the top of the tank today. I readjusted the 20 gallon long with a divider so that one side can house the fry and the other contains the adults. I’ve no clue how they successfully managed to breed (I had recently separated males from females for the past 2 weeks to condition them).

Thus, I was wondering if you can leave a more detailed layout of how your tank is setup, etc. The egg trap has been very unsuccessful for me since they don’t even bother to hang out at that level (they stay very low and get very timid around the egg trap glass).

Also, what have you done to keep the fry alive? I don’t know what to feed the three surprises that I have right now.

    Thanks for your time.

Well, I am certainly aware that there are so many methods, but they seem to range from, getting maybe a few fries surviving over months, to hundreds in one spawning, I’m looking for the hundreds methodologies =P.

Thank you for your advice! Looking for more thoughts!
