Huh. I dunno about “magical”… I never much liked worms, or aliens, for that matter. Then again, I think baby birds are cute, so I guess I can’t point any fingers! But I gotta admit, I prefer fish in their adult stages.
Even still, those photos are just… amazing. I have a hard enough time taking a picture of a large, stationary barn, let alone something so tiny!
LissaParticipantThank you so much for your advice!
I have a bit of time yet, before my tank is “overgrown”; most of the plants I could find were tiny babies. And I’m having trouble finding Java Moss; no one in my city seems to be carrying it right now. Oh, well, I’ll find some eventually!
Thank you again!
LissaParticipant30C is a little high for most fish, isn’t it? Especially fish that like cooler temperatures, like CDPs. Most fish, in my experience, would certainly be showing signs of temperature stress (unless they’re being treated for something, and it’s only for a short time).
The vast majority of tropical fish (with some exceptions, like discus, who like it a little warmer) prefer temps between 24C-27C (76F-80F). That three-degree difference is a big deal if you’re a little fish!
LissaParticipantI have 6 CPDs in a 10g (I like living dangerously, lol), and they are very shy as well. However, my “dominant” male (the one who pushes every one around, but that’s okay, because he’s the prettiest) is very outgoing, and will come up to the glass to see if I’m about the feed them. He actually has a calming influence on one of my extremely shy females (she’s the smallest in the tank); if he’s near her, she’s much more outgoing.
