ParticipantHahaha! Sorry, you misunderstood me. Maybe I wasn’t clear enough. I meant with their own species in the presence of others…

ParticipantI feed mine mainly on the Hikari Micro Pellets now. I have the Wafers aswell but they are still a little large for CPD mouths. They go absolutely mad for them and surface to get them all the time. Plus they aren’t just one type i.e. different ingredients for different granules (http://www.hikari.info/tropical/t_02.html) so it’s good to know the fish are getting varied nutrition.

ParticipantHey! I’m just outside Tarporley. Do you have fry yet? Mine are yet to breed successfully but when they do would you be interested in swapping some fish? Where did you hear about the export ban?
Jimbo
ParticipantNice! She got double teamed! Where did you get those artificial woolen mops from? I had a load of Java Moss but chucked it because it clogged my filter, and was pretty bad quality.
Jimbo
ParticipantHuh?
Jimbo
ParticipantHa! Congratulations!
I live just outside Chester.

ParticipantThen again the CPD’s in a Nano Cube on the counter at Maidenhead in Stockport seemed completely oblivious to humans. Whereabouts in Cheshire are you from ste1200?

ParticipantHey. Funnily enough, when I first bought my first 2 batches they were in my Rio 125 and I didn’t have this problem. They didn’t seem bothered by my presence at all. Maybe it’s the size of the tank they’re in and them feeling unable to swim away anywhere?

ParticipantHi. Thanks for your replies. I am currently feeding them Hikari Micro Wafers and Pellets, frozen Bloodworm, Daphnia and BBS. I have some newly hatched frozen BBS but they didn’t seem interested in them. As for the breeding, it seems those fry I found have been eaten so i’ve not successfully raised any yet. Regarding the temperature, so 70f is 21c? My tank is at 28c today with it being hot outside, as is my community tank which is far too hot. My heater is still set at 23. Do you think I should lower it even more then?
Jimbo
ParticipantThat’s quality Ste! Keep up the good work.
Jimbo
ParticipantSorry, I was meant to post that in the Behaviour forum. D’oh!

ParticipantI had the heater set to 24 degrees celsius but on hot days it was rising to 26, so I dropped it a degree. I read the water they come from is between 22 and 24. The fish I have left all seem in good health at the moment. There’s lots of chasing and circling going on, so hopefully they’ll make some babies to replace what I have lost.

ParticipantLost another male. 9 down 7 to go.
Jimbo
ParticipantYet another death. 1 of my females became really fat, think it might’ve been dropsy. Found her in the Java Moss yesterday evening.

ParticipantNot arrived yet but I bought some Hikari Micro Pellets from my lfs in the meantime. I can confirm they go pretty nuts for these aswell, compared to other foods. Also, perfect size for their mouths.
