my breeding tank was about 25 liters, so 50 liters is good enough, i think you can better have more females than males in your breeding tank, and put a lot of javamoss in it for the eggs and fry, and when you’ve fry it’s better to take them out or use the divider.

i think it depends how large your fry is, the 4 adults aren’t chasing them?

my breedinggroup existed from 2 males and 6 females, after i discovered the first fry(after 2 weeks) i put the breedinggroup back in the tank with the other CPD’s so the fry(and eggs) wouldn’t eaten up by the parents.

lansen: the CPD parents, which i’ve since januari, weren’t shy at all, but after i put them back from the breeding tank in the first aqua-40 tank they started to be shy, and now they are hiding in the javamoss all the time…strange…

The CPD fry, which now are almost 4 months old, aren’t shy at all, i think they recognise me beacusse i’ve spend hours and hours watching them and taking pictures of them(some of them i’ve seen born)

jojomojo1971:that branch of wood in the aqua-65 tank?

i was trying different positions of the wood in the tank, the dutch word for this wood is wortelhout, translated: rootwood, but i don’t think it’s the right word for this kind of wood in english, this wood is used a lot in the Netherlands(Holland) for tanks.

I have at this time 16 CPD’s(parents ot the fry) in the first aqua-40:

this is a nanotank with 25 liter.

And there are 40 fry(all adults now) left in the aqua-65 tank:

The parents are shy , but i’m glad the young CPD’s are not shy at all.

They eat everything i’ve given them:BBS of course for growing up, dapnia’s mosquitolarvae(white and red), tubifex, and very small dryfood, deepfrozen food and they like algaetablets and shrimppallets as well.

This is an plastictubifexfeeder, very useful:

Hello Katkin, i have to take a lot of pictures, most of them are not good enough:too light, too dark or no good composition.

    aqua-65 tank:

the cpd’s(G1) really like the shrimppallets!

a few months ago i had 4 Killifish: Nothobranchius rachovii:

one of the most coloured fish i’ve ever had.

Thank you all for the compliments!

The aqua-40 tank contents about 25 liter, black large sand grains for substrate, plants: mostly javamoss, ludwigia and some crypto’s in the back(i think nevelli), but they are covered by the javamoss.
    pH:7 temp: 24/25 degrees.

This nano-tank has experienced a lot of changes,

    a year ago:

I use this standard PL-11watt lamp:

and Easycarbo and Profito(liquid plant substance) for the plants

I use a small filter in the breeding tank:

This is a PL-light, it’s a kind of small “double”TL light and you use a trafo(transformator) for it to make it wor:

I bought a bigger tank for the young CPD’s so they can grow better:

the young ones are now used to there new home:

Picture breedingtank: aqua-40, about 27 liters
temp: 22-23 in the morning and 24,5-25 in the evening(pl-lamp and trafo gives heath to the water)
pH : 7 , white sand and lots of javamoss for shelter and for the spawning.
