great tank…I’m trying to set up something similar. What’s your lighting and co2 specs?
fishcop444Participantno, not all relevant…but it has plenty of information that is not rumor or myth
fishcop444ParticipantOne of the few Ive seen in the states is…

fishcop444Participantmost egg rearing/spawning tanks should have minimal or no gravel and a sponge filter. If the sponge filter is aged, there will be, as a bonus, some micro-organisims inhabiting it for when the fry become free swimming…plus no worries about fry getting sucked out…plus they’re cheap filters!
fishcop444Participantthanks for the detail…any progress?
fishcop444Participantwow pH tolerance seems to be very wide… 6.2-7.8! I heard that at first reports they preferred low pH but then it was later revealed that they were native to slightly alkaline water…
fishcop444Participantcelestialdude…the only fish I would worry about is the Chinese algae eater. They are supposed to eat very little algae as they mature…I would trade him for Otocinclus sp. who are pretty strict herbivores and more peaceful. That being said, the parents and the guppy would probably eat the eggs as well if they can find them…I would refer to some of the Zebra danio breeding tips for general advice until more people become experienced…
fishcop444Participantrefer to “feeding” thread…

fishcop444ParticipantGreat pics!
Would you please post the details of your breeding tank? Temp, pH, plants, substrate, etc.fishcop444ParticipantThis link is to the “scientific description” of the species, which is how species are named and biologically categorized. I would suggest that this be made an essential reading for anyone interested in the species since it answers many of the biological questions.
