ive added 6 yellow lab. today

just got to think about what other kind to put in there.

not sure if ive already said it but i beleive i was told on cichlid forum that i could add M. Cyaneorhabdos (5-8)?

also is there any chance of adding labidochromis sp.Mbamba?

    thanks

you could try a water change with cooler water.

are your cpd’s tank breed? as ive never seen any of my cpd’s bully each other?

is there any other plants in the tank except java moss?

hi welcome to the forum :D

    congrats on the fry

my cpd babies are about half inch long now. they resemble the adults eith the dots and a tint of red on there fins but its know where near as deep as the adults is! they are about 4-5 months old now i believe

ive havent seen a aggresive cpd tbh! i have had about 4-5 in the same tank and didnt see any aggresion.

    well ive finished now!

the rocks are all in place the tank is full of water.

the only problem is no pics! when i filled up the tank i used the hose form the garden, there is alot of condensation on the outside of the tank due to the water being so cold anyway the water is reading just below 60 degree f and about 10 degree c.

so ill take pics after the condensation has gone (every time i wipe it its back in seconds)

    edit.
my mum says she’s worried about the weight of rocks in the tank being to much lol

thanks ste. i had a nasty thought a few weeks ago when a few of my cpd’s passed away of changing there tank to a pair/trio to a nice dwarf. but after i changed the tank around i love them to bits again.

i also want a bigger malawi tank already! (going to let them grow and say to my mum they need a bigger tank and play it that way) mmmm say around 5/6ft x2x2?

well today i didnt get out of bed till 11ish.

i started to brake up the slate which didnt turn out as i planned. turned out alot smaller but to be honest im glad as i like the look of the smaller bits. ive only used about 3 rocks (ony about 1/2 the rock due to the size and shape of the broken of pieces) and ive got 9!

the rock is about half way there at least so not much to go

i also went to a fish shop (took about an hour) to buy a pump the most suitable pump was an eheim which they wanter £90 ($180) so i bought a pond pump for £35ish ($70). its quite noisy and will have to be turned off at night (i could hear it in the living room about 15ft away when the tv was turned off) the jets are very powerfull and im glad i only got the 2400lph one instead of the recommend 3500lph pump.

sand i almost all washed used 2 out of the 3 bags and will use a max of half the last bag

ive put 4 under water leds in that was in my previous tank. ive put them behind the rock so at night/dark they glow though.

ive got a few photos but will post when ive finished the rockwork.

it doest say that it alters the chemistry. it looks like fine crused glass but from reading the name its says its natural from around the world

it really does set the plants off

    thanks for the comments

the ‘sand’ is quite course. its called Super Naturals Aquarium Gravel. it is made by Carib Sea and it is Tahitian Moon (if you look on the back of the bag it has a list of 10 different type with a tick in Tahitian Moon)
