Would zebra danios be good tankmates for CPDs?

They get along well with all other community fish, from what I’m seeing.

However, from an aesthetics point of view, I think Zebra Danios would be the closest relative to the Celestial Pearl Danio, so yes, it would be a nice combination. Great idea!

I have a 37 gallon planted tank with 3 celestials, 15 rasbora maculata, and 12 red cherry shrimp. So far they seem to be doing well together, though the RCS haven’t started to breed.

Does this seem like a happy little community? The celestials hang at the bottom of the tank until feeding time most of the time.

    Welcome dgphelps!

Yeah definitely sounds like the perfect community. If you intend on breeding the Celestials then I recommend lots of plants like Java moss to provide hiding places and also spawning areas.

Good luck and show us photos soon…

Great news! Glad to know they should do fine. I actually have some nice clumps of javamoss in the tank along with many other plants for cover.

They completely ignore my juvenile shrimp. Have you had any luck getting your shrimp to breed and grow up successfully with the danios and maculatas?

Do we have a specific place on this forum to upload pictures of our homemade danio habitats? (Edit, noticed the Photo / Video section. Maybe I will get some pictures of my setup there this weekend.)
