Stocking with CPD

Hi all,

I was thinking of the following stocking scheme, plus some red cherry shrimp:

-6 Chili rasbora OR 6 Spotted blue eyes;
-6 Celestial pearl danio;
-1 dwarf gourami

Any opinions on this? If not the dwarf gourami, any other ideas for a centerpiece-type fish? Thanks for any input!! I’m dead set on the CPDs and just wanted to confirm they will be happy with the other fish mentioned above. Thanks!

Hi jkelly, welcome to the forum!

I’ve kept CPD’s with dwarf shrimp and other small Danios before without any problems, (the CPD’s will eat the baby shrimp though).

Thanks Dennis!! I’ve decided on just a school of celestial pearl danio, and then adding in one dwarf gourami. How many CPDs would you recommend in a 10 gallon tank with the one dwarf gourami and some red cherry shrimp??

You could easily keep a dozen in a set-up like that. Give them plenty of cover and they should be happy.

The only on-lines place I would recommend other than myself would be Frank’s Aquarium (http://franksaquarium.com/), but he appears to be out of them too.
