Thanks snail! Sadly, I lost all my Devario assamensis this past summer to some record hot weather. They are a larger species and prefer cool water to do their best.

The ID of the Orange Finned Danio (Danio kyathit – Striped morph) above is incorrect. Mine were given the correct ID by the man who wrote the book as they say, Pete Cottle early this year. http://www.danios.info/content/book.aspx

They are in fact Danio sp. Red Fin. I have only recently started to rear some fry from these beautiful fish after keeping them for over a year.

sorry to hear that. I have a problem with hot summers here in Portugal too. I am worried about that with CPD, do you have experience with CPD in the heat?

Mine have always done fine with the heat. They will stop spawning when the temperatures reach the 80’s, but other than that I haven’t really noticed that they behave any different.

During our “heat wave” last summer most of my tanks were in the upper 80’s for about 6 weeks. In September when the temperatures dropped back to normal, I had fish spawning everywhere!
