Not arrived yet but I bought some Hikari Micro Pellets from my lfs in the meantime. I can confirm they go pretty nuts for these aswell, compared to other foods. Also, perfect size for their mouths.

I bought those Hikari Wafers too a few days ago, but have only seem them eat them once. The vegetation is too dense, most they just float down to the java moss.

And whenever I do see them they are too busy chasing each other to notice anything else. Single-tracked fish…

Is it normal for these fish to not eat a couple days after you get them? I just bought mine yesterday but so far they haven’t seemed to show any interest in any foods, even the Hikari Micro Wafers.

So far I’ve tried Hikari Micro Pellets, Hikari Micro Wafers, and frozen bloodworms.

Also, once the food hits the ground have you guys observed your fish picking the food up?

Yeah I think that’s normal. Mine just huddled together and hid. They weren’t very happy at all.

Give them a while to settle in (still feed a little though) and then they’ll be wanting to eat more.

For my fish, I’ve definately noticed mine picking food off things, more usually rocks and java moss rather than the sand. I guess it’s easier of them to find it there.
A big flat rock to put food on might be helpful if you want to monitor food intake.

Ah thanks. The way their mouths are positioned I was guessing that they wouldn’t be too open to the idea of eating off the substrate, so I think I’ll try to aim for the driftwood next time.
