    hey people,
i have 8 cpds and they layed some eggs about 3 weeks ago. the result was just 1 tiny fish, i have never seen any more since then. Do you have some advice how to get them spawned again? they are well fed with mosquito larves and mostly fat :) ( what i read is important to make them spawn).
    – Temp about 26-27 (here in switzerland people keep them at 28 what makes them spawn regularly).
    – size 54 litre
    – water changes about 25 litre/week
-lots of moss and some anubias nana in there
    – no gravel (easier to clean, bc i wanted them to multiply…)

i would apreciate some advices, and greetings out to the people in this forum, i have read alot its very interesting

    Hi Don,

They are probably spawning on a regular basis, they are just eating the eggs or fry before you notice.

You might try adding some floating plants like java grass, (guppy grass), for the fry to hide in. The more cover the better with these guys.

They are eaten very quickly if you want any amount of fry you almost have to keep vigil or have a second tank(or use a divider) and switch moss or mops every 7-10 days. Another way is to siphon the gravel leave the siphoned water and see if you siphoned eggs. I haven’t tried this method only because my fish are spawning every week and try not to disturb them too much

I think a second tank is the order of the day. OR I might try a large breeding trap within a tank to hold any fry until they are big enough to enter the main tank

Java moss usually sinks and they will lay the eggs there.

The java grass / guppy grass / etc /, floats and the fry can hide in it to keep from being eaten.
