After many mistakes I made in the past trying to keep the offspring alive I came to the golden rule.I set up the 25l tank with a lot of half rotten java moss ( which was kept in dark place in covered pot for around two weeks before). This is causing the ideal conditions for infusoria.Another thing is to have a few fast growing plants in the small pot. Also before first offspring comes to the tank I put a tiny bit of frozen cyclopes into the water.
Temperature is around 20 C and sponge filter works 24/7 the same with LED light.
Whenever I see the fry in one of my 6 galaxy tanks, I net it and move to the offspring tank.Since I started doing this way, I haven’t seen any dead fish. The most important thing is I DO NOT FEED THEM.After two weeks I have many little cyclopes larvae in the tank.I change 20 % of water every week.

    that is a great tip.

How I do it is having a small breeding tank in the window sill. This is on the northeast side of our house. The back of the tank is black painted. The location of the tank is great because:
    a. it gets the first sunlight in the day, this enhances breeding for many fish
    b. because of the early sunlight algea will grow but very minor. SO the tank is covered a small bit with algea and the water is lightly green. Also, many small critters are seen in the tank and act as food.

I missed this thread, here are my tips

    1) I have 3 infusora colonies. 1 fed lettice, 1 fed duckweed, and 1 fed a mixture of other leafy veggies.

    2) feed the infusora 2 to 3 times a day until they can eat micro worms then transition over to them.

    3) a neocaridina shrimp ended up getting into the spawning tank. This spawn I’m going to leave it in there as I have discovered that they love micro worms. It can eat the uneaten microworms on the bottom of the tank.

    4) When I remove the parents I plan to add daphnia to multiply until the fry are big enough to eat them, see what happens.
