ParticipantThe tank is a little to small for othe fish, you can try otto cats for the algae, and some dwarf corydoras. The problem is, is that they like to be in groups of 3 or more. This is for both the otto cats and corydoras.

ParticipantI don’t see a problem with the Otocinclus, but the Corydoras will eat all the eggs & fry they can find.

Sorry for the late reply. I personally have not observed corydoras eat eggs. My wife and I have successfully triggered the spawning of 3 species of Corys. They exist in most of our aquariums. We lose most of the eggs to fungus. These eggs do “disappear”, not sure what happens to them. After saying that, we have heard of Corys eating eggs including their own. We have not heard of this or observed it for the dwarf Corys.

ParticipantI had cherry shrimps and they have eaten eggs, i don’t knaw about amano shrimp?
May 15, 2010 at 8:26 pm #14425ged
ParticipantI have kept with mine 2 amano and one cherry I collected 60-80 fry a week and that is with the parents in the tank(2 males and 4 females). The most I collected was 110 they may eat some but they are prolific with proper care. If you have a whole colony of cherry it might be an issue. The biggest problem is the size of tank I would use a single shrimp. I imagine an otto would be fine as well .

Participantmaybe baby shrimp? they are tiny and also serve as live food for the cpd’s
maybe toss a few preggo rcs in there, then catch the adult rcs after they give birth.

ParticipantI would just use 1 or 2, the more mouths the more eggs in  jeopardy  IMO
