Does anyone know if the habitat that these fish were collected form has been described by a reliable source? Or to be more precise, the conditions? I am looking for sources like collector’s reports and papers which list the water hardness, temperatures, etc.

So far I have only seen one listing of temperature :-/

Hi KittyKat, welcome to the forum!

The “Home Sweet Home” article on the home page gives a bit of info about the area where CPD’s were first collected…

“Mr. Tin Win of the Hein Aquarium visited the area and reports the water where these fish are found is crystal clear with a pH of 7.3 and the conductivity of 250 micro siemen. The pond bottom is covered with sand. The area is mostly grassland and rice paddies, so the ponds are open to the sun and filled with a rich variety of aquatic plants.”

The original scientific paper is here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1134
Check out the section in it under Ecology.
