    Hi.

To those of you that have a different tank for raising your fry (or plan to once you get fry), how is it set up? Do you add sand and plants and such or leave it more bare? How big is it (in gallons)? How many fish are in the breeding tank? How many in the fry tank?

I’m looking at getting another 10 gallon and only adding a bunch of plastic plants and no sand or gravel.

As much information as possible would be greatly appreciated. Comments and critisism too :D

my fry tank is a 5 gallon tank with alot of javamoss in it, sand bottom and a sponge filter. The fry seem to be able to pick alot of food out of the javamoss and off the filter

I was thinking a 10 gallon would be to big, but frankly a 10 is cheaper than a 5. :) Not that I mind, but where to put the thing is the problem. :?

Funny enough my “fry tank” is going to be my biggest tank so far. A 20 gallon and I don’t even have any fry yet… :D

Of course, it’s just till I can get things shuffled around. But till then I’ll put my betta, 3 white clouds and 2 catfish in there.

They won’t know what to do with all the space. :) Wish my room was that big compared to my body size.

Well actually I’m going to keep the fry in the 20 gallon till they’re big enough to swim in it without being eatedn by the other fish. I found a place that sells “fish net breeder”s with really small holes in the mesh for them so I’m sure they’ll be fine in that.

I’ll use the 5 gallon for raising my baby snails (catfish seem to have a liking for munching them up).
