Sell the car ha ha.. Seriously though it does cost a lot. And that is before you include thing like airpumps, filters, heaters, thermometers the tanks themselves and all the other gubbins a serious fishkeeper needs. Keep saving chris and you will get there.
July 14, 2007 at 4:01 pm #11678chr15_8Participantit will end up costing alot more than what i said after you add filter heaters etc like you said
dont think many people would be interested in my car at the moment
has about £500+ ($1000+) worth of damage to it at least could be talking £700 ($1400) (depends whats behind the bodywork
oh plus another £400 ($800) for the cars bumper i hit
i changed from fully comp to 3rd party about a month ago as they wanted an extra £1200

What can i say chris….unlucky mate.you will have to breed a sh!tload of CPD’s to pay for that lot.July 17, 2007 at 6:42 am #11688EllyParticipantGlorified Great Dane doghouse? That might do the trick!!!!
How about turning the back portion of your car into a fish car? That way you could take them with you where ever you go! Seriously though, you should really pre-sell your fish in America!! I had never even heard of CPDs until I found this website. (And great job may I add!) I know tons of fish stores that would love to sell this fish!! Large corporations wouldn’t work of course, but I live in the Tacoma, WA area (near Seattle…) and there are a TON of specialty fish shops that are just the thing!July 17, 2007 at 11:04 pm #11707ste12000ParticipantElly, with chris’s dodgy driving he would crack his fish car lol… Sorry chris couldnt resist

July 19, 2007 at 5:24 am #11717EllyParticipantGeez!!! Have you thought about selling one or both cars and getting a bike? (Seriously) What’s gas like over there? It’s about $3.00 a gallon over here…

petrol is about 97p per litre which is $3.67 we then have to pay roadtax which for my car (small car) is £110 ($220) most are about £170($340) then insurance
my insurance is/was £800 ($1600) which is cheap at my age (17)

September 24, 2007 at 8:46 pm #12301chr15_8Participantok i going to do this soonish now (depending on the weather)
mum thinks its a great idea that there will be no more fish stuff laying around the house) except the few essentails for my 4ft display tank
dad thinks it good but it wont fit. so i said if i can clear the space and he has enough room to store things would he be happy and he didnt react much, so i said about more money for electric etc and he said he’ll get back to me so i asked when he said end of the week (friday to me)
anyway
i have two options
1) buy a pre built shed for around £235.
2) build a shed which will cost around £120 + the shiplap which i recon will be about £70
good thing with opion 1 is
*quick to assemblebad
*is it not very tall around 5ft 11 in the corners and about 6ft 6 in the center so after the time ive added board on the inside it wont be very big. considering im about 6ft 2ish it will be very tight (also forgot to mention a cieling light will be about 2 1/2 inches)
*joists might be thin and not able to hold the wieghtgood thing option 2
*make it as tall as i like (about 6ft 2 in the corners and 7 ft in the middle)
*will know its been put together with strong/good wood (ussing thicker wood than normal sheds)
*make a double door so when i take tanks in and out it will be easier (hard to find on 7ft x 5ft sheds)
*i like to build thingsbad
*will probably take about 2 days to contructall prices above are without insulation + wood for the inside

September 24, 2007 at 10:41 pm #12307chr15_8Participanti need help!!!!!!!!!
im trying to work out how much sheeplap i need (it goes around the outside of the shed)
it comes in lengths of 4200mm (4.2 meters) it is 137 mm wide, my shed is going to be about 1900mm tall (this will assume its a box with no roof)
so i devided 137mm into 1900mm to get 13.86 (so round it up to 14 pieces)
this comes in 4.2 meters as i said, my shed is going to be 2.1meters long so it will be both the long sides in 1 piece. so therefore i need 14 pieces of shiplap to go around the longest two sides.
am i correct or have i lost you? lol
im not calculating the 2 shorter sides (the door and the back wall) yet as i want to make sure im this is correct first.
hope it makes sense and someone can confirm i need 14 oieces for the 2 side stated above. if you need more info please tell me
