    Hi

I’ve been keeping CPDs for a couple of weeks now and I’m having trouble with feeding.

I feed Hikari Micro Pellets, Tetra Mini Granules and freeze dried daphnia.

The problem is that with the pellets is that if I put them on the water’s surface they just float forever, but when I place a pinch under the surface they sink quite fast and the fish don’t get many of them.

The problem with the daphnia is they don’t sink AT ALL!!

I don’t want uneaten food sitting polluting the water, so what should I do?

Don’t really know what to tell ya about the micro-pellets, besides try something else.
For the daphnia, I’d suggest pre-soaking it, or try frozen (if you can find it).

I feed a mix of finely crushed (just about powdered) ‘Omega One’ cichlid flake & shrimp pellets and ‘San Francisco’ FD bloodworms.
I mix it with water first and the introduce into filter out flow, I feed twice a day, they seem to like it quite well and are thriving.

Yeah I think I found a solution. I take a pinch of the daphnia and crush it under water so the pieces are tiny and they sink :)

I just added frozen brine shrimp/daphnia to my CPds menu.

My South American community loves these new foods too

I keep a whiteworm culture on the go, they get live worms twice a week and crushed tetrapro colour all other times.
