How small are the CPD’s eggs? I’m trying to figure out if they’ll drop through the mesh netting I have. The mesh I’m using is about the same size as the kind used for net breeders like this one (http://www.petco.com/product/13623/Penn-Plax-Net-Breeder.aspx)

    Thanks for your help!

I can’t help you there mate, even though mine are spawning regularly I have never seen the eggs.

They are supposed to be tiny and therefore could be easily misten for other particles, such as liquifry or or powder food that has sunk to the bottom or into the moss.

They are about 1 to 1.5 mm at a rough guess & clear. I’ve sucked them out using a gravel vac as they are also not very sticky

Fresh eggs slightly less than 1 mm.
But after few hours about 1,5 mm.

I used Nikkor 105/2.8 Macro with Nikon D200.

    Oh those photos are amazing!

I keep thinking of the “witnessing the miracle of life” reason that I heard when I was a kid and a neighbor’s pet had kittens/puppies.

I have never had pets before, let alone pets that I could observe breeding and having babies! Love the baby fish! I am so grateful for the early stage photos- they are just magical!

Huh. I dunno about “magical”… I never much liked worms, or aliens, for that matter. Then again, I think baby birds are cute, so I guess I can’t point any fingers! But I gotta admit, I prefer fish in their adult stages.

Even still, those photos are just… amazing. I have a hard enough time taking a picture of a large, stationary barn, let alone something so tiny!
