An article on Celestial Pearl Danios (Exploring the Galaxy) is in the May 2010 issue of Tropical Fish Hobbyist magazine.
March 24, 2010 at 11:37 pm #14351Tom2006Participantis this on the net anywhere?
March 29, 2010 at 12:10 pm #14354BallAquaticsParticipantAs far as I know, it’s just in the Tropical Fish Hobbyist magazine or on-line through the digital subscription.
I was quite disappointed with the article and expressed my disappointment on the TFH forum.

Thanks for the link! I think you should write your own article. I think you have enough knowledge and practical experience to make it an informative article. It’s all about learning and teaching! I say….go for it!
I am really confused after reading that! Heat the water up to induce breeding make it cooler?
Those poor fish in the pictures look awful, I wanted to feed them some live food or something. :!:

I’ve been getting permission to use some photos and little by little I think I’m getting closer to my CPD article.

I am so confused after reading that article. Do you raise the temp to breed them or do you do a w/c with cooler water.

Great news about the pictures. I found that most people in the aquatic hobby are so great about sharing their pictures. I will wait patiently for your article.

Actually I’ve never had to play around with the water temperature to get them to spawn. I generally like to keep mine between 68-78F and they breed like rabbits. I have noticed that when it gets very warm, above 80F they stop spawning. That’s what happened with all my breeders this summer.

You are so right! Every single person I have asked responded with a yes. One of my first requests was of our very own resident photographer Glenn. If you haven’t looked at his photos yet, you are in for a treat!

October 16, 2010 at 4:19 am #14607AquaGirlParticipantThank you for the link, I checked that thread out the other night and was amazed that he could get such nice photo’s of small babies. It is a great record of their growth rate.
My camera is great but I still can’t take good photo’s. I really need to take the time to learn how to use it the right way!
Thank you for the information on the breeding! Haven’t even thought that far ahead but was curious when I read that.
