Hello, I have an aquaclear 20 in a 5.5 gallon tank. I’m wondering if I have to cover the intake with sponge to keep fry out, if they end up breeding?

    Thanks

It is probably best just to be on the safe side although if the flow isn’t too great they should be fine.

If you can get a sponge pre-filter for the intake you’ll be all set!

I have some extra sponges for the aquaclear 20 filter that I could put a hole into and just use it as a prefilter. Would that work?

That should work. I’ve done that for guppy fry.
