I was wondering what was a good size to wait for before introducing the babies back in with the mature fish?

    1/2 size, 1/4 size???

I’ve seen my adults go after black worms which I figured would have been bigger than they would be interested in.

I’m not really close to being comfortable with the fry I have being big enough, just wondering really.

    Thanks!

1/2 an inch is certainly safe. Right now, I’ve got two 1/2 inch fry in my main cpd tank.

Interestingly, Saturday I saw that two tiny (free swimming) fry also are in the tank, and there were still doing fine Sunday evening. I think I’m just going let those small ones stay and see if they survive.

I agree that 1/2 inch should be too large for the parents to eat.

My CPD can eat white worms with no problems and they are pretty large in comparison to the adults.

Sounds like a plan. Has anyone run into their juveniles eating their fry?

Aka do I need to bother separating the mediums fromthe freshly hatched?

I removed the larger fry that are about one month old because I was afraid that they would try to eat the newly hatched.

I did not see them bothering them but didn’t want to take a chance that they would. Is a little paranoia a bad thing?
