Bended back bone fries

I just noticed that some of my fries backbone are bended, either towards the left or right. When they swim, they seem like riding on a pogo stick. Is it something to do with the water conditions or something to do with the genetics, i mean could it be due to not enough gene pool?
I have had a few that have been like that but I suspect that it has happened when they have been caught during a water change and “bashed”.
It may be that they have lost their egg sac or something similar and not developed properly as a result.
I would suspect that it is not an inbreeding thing as my fry at the time were all F1 from the first wild stocks that appeared in Britain.
