from my brief experience with mbunas (<2yrs), the P. salousi made much friendlier tank-mates than the P. demasoni, although the demasoni were definitely a stunning blue (only get that with the grown male(s?) of the salousi, and sort of a black/blue negative to the demasoni's blue/black). Ditto to the interbreeding concerns.

Don’t know if that’s useful at all :roll: but it’s pretty much the sum of my relevant mbuna experience!
