Thanks…No its not aerated, i dont find it makes much difference, upto now each tank is drained individually using a syphon pipe, it is then refilled by gravity from a pipe on the water butt, i prefere it this way, as you say there is less chance of cross contamination and if required tanks can have completely different water.
I have got maintainence down to around 1 hour if i dont mess about! but who has a fishroom and doesnt mess about, it usually takes more like 2-3 hours of messing to do all the little jobs, its been up and running now for only 7 weeks so there are loads of little jobs to do. I still have to insulate and board the roof of the side with the water butt, it can wait a week though as my missus is thinking of changing her name to guppy so she gets a bit of attention lol :roll: :wink:
