My tank had a lot of places to hide too. My goldfish could barely swim but it managed too. It will work for a limited time but eventually they will be gone. It’s your decision for your tank so I really can’t say much. Trust me everyone in the tank will eat the babies. If you have a lot of plants some will live but sadly most won’t make it. No clue how to get the snail out of the shell. How long have you had the snail? How was it aclimated?
