Hi Guys,
Not sure if this should be posted under Breeding or Habitat, so please forgive if its not in the correct section.
At the moment I am trying to condition my CPDs to spawn,
Ive only had them for approx 2-3 weeks but the male seems to be guarding his little territory of tank
and looking pretty red fin’d, the girls are looking good after a good feed (they were fairly pale and shakey when i first got them)
Ive seen a few little chases and dances (head to tail in circular motion) – hoping this is a flirting sign and not “fightin’ tawk”
I dont have a separate tank as yet, and originally hope any fry could hide amongst the plants and wood etc. in the main tank,
however after reading a few posts it seems mummy and daddy and prone to eating the fry, would raising the fry in a tub (tank water used so matched parameters) be a feasable option? I have such a vessel in mind but sadly no filter system, could i raise fry in a filterless environment providing i do necessary waterchanges to keep the water fresh?
Ollie ( short term option until fry are large enough to co-inhabitate which the folks)
