Here are pictures of my CDP Platy tank (there is also one neon tetra).
Lot’s of baby platy’s.
I don’t over saturate my pictures to make the colors look brighter than they are in real life. I hate when people do that.Hi,
Here is my 20 gallon aquarium.
I lost about 6 neon tetras and a few platy’s to neon tetra disease about 2 months ago.
There’s only one neon tetra left, but it has good company with the teen platy’s.All the plants are real. Some of which I pulled from my hometown creek.
I’m looking to buy more when I get more money, and time to get my CO2 running again.Stock:

Nice colourful tank! The cpd’s wont be very happy in there though due to all the activity. They are timid fish and you get their true character and colour when they are in a tank on their own or with other shy small fish
I originally had the CDPs in their own 10 gallon tank to make sure they were disease free before I added them to the 20 gallon with the other fish. They were very dull in color and hid all the time. I was very concerned about adding them to the community tank, but was surprised in the end. They started acting a lot happier the second they were placed in the water. They love to swim around with the baby and teen platy’s. Their color filled in after only a day of moving.
I read somewhere that having active, non aggressive fish in the tank helps them to get braver but others say it makes them shy, i’d be interested to hear more experiences on this.

Right now I have 5 CPD’s in a tank with 2 white clouds (fairly inactive, very non-aggressive) and 5 Gertrudae rainbowfish which are more on the active side but very non aggressive. The CPD’s do seem a little braver and often school with the rainbows. I will be removing them soon to put into a spawning tank as soon as it has finished cycling. I’ll see if there is any behavior change then.
I don’t know if it makes a difference but the CPD’s were in the tank for a while before I added the bows.
I’d be interested to know if they are different when they are in a tank on their own again.

My camera is known to have low saturation so I have the camera set to vivid as recommended. They do get this colourful when they are kept in a species tank during displays the colour is most vivid I like to use a zoom lens so I don’t disturb them they do mute their colours when approached. I also feed brine shrimp regularly.
